experience with computer science or programming is required. The AP Computer Science A professional
learning model is designed to leverage the knowledge and expertise of all community members to
enhance the experiences and competencies of participating teachers.
Get Ready to Teach AP CS A is a comprehensive online professional development course that prepares
teachers to confidently implement the capstone course in our blended computer science pathway: AP
Computer Science A.
The course is asynchronous, meaning teachers have the opportunity to learn and complete material
on their own time and at their own pace. The training covers content relevant to both new and
experienced computer science teachers, exposing participants to the dynamic role of the AP CS A
